Black silicon carbide is made of high-purity quartz sand and petroleum coke, which is smelted in a resistance furnace at a high temperature above 2000°C. It has the characteristics of hard texture, sharp cutting edge, erosion resistance, corrosion resistance, and good thermal performance. It is suitable for manufacturing grinding wheels, coated abrasives, wire saws, advanced refractory materials, and deoxidizers.
